Design Reading Room is a dedicated space for resources used by the departments within the College of Design such as art and landscape architecture. It provides a convenient location for College of Design students and easy management of resources for the library staff.

Public Transit

CyRide is the public transportation providing extensive coverage throughout the city of Ames. There are three bus stops to the east of College of Design.

Parking

ISU offers many parking options with varying permit prices near Parks, however, Lots 6, 9, 10, and 21 are the closest and are free for all on evenings (after 5:30pm) and weekends.

Physical Accessibility

  • Main entrances: The College of Design is accessible via ramp and wave-to-open automatic doors at the east and west (King Pavillion) entrances.
  • Restrooms: Visitors to the Design Reading Room have access to men’s, women’s, and all-gender ADA-compliant restrooms in the College of Design.  Some are equipped with changing tables. Women's restrooms may provide female hygiene products.
  • Wheelchair accommodations: We offer height-adjustable tables with workstations for wheelchair accommodations.
