Donating materials and gifts in kind
You can express interest in donating books, journal issues, other print materials, or archival materials not already in our collection to support Iowa State University teaching and research areas.
We evaluate donations and acknowledge them in compliance with university policies such as Collections and Open Strategies Policy and the Special Collections and University Archives Collection Development Policy.

Recent print materials
Let us know about your potential material donation by following this process:
- Establish the value of your gift for tax purposes. Obtain a qualified appraisal for donations of $5000 or more.
- Fill out the Library Gift of Materials Form (PDF).
- Send the form to the appropriate subject librarian.
- The subject librarian will decide whether or not to accept your gift.
- If accepted, arrange delivery of the items to the subject librarian.
