You can request an ISU library item that's currently checked out to someone else, by “recalling” it. The due date for the other borrower is changed, and we’ll notify you when the item is returned. All ISU library and interlibrary loan items are subject to recall at any time.
Instead of a recall, you could get a copy from another library. Use the “Request from Interlibrary Loan” option for the Quick Search item. You’ll log in to your interlibrary loan account and a pre-filled request form.
If an item you have gets recalled
If your borrowed item is recalled, you will receive a Due Date Change notice via email. The email will show your new due date.
Please return recalled items to a library location by the new due date. You can mail a recalled item back to the library, but we must receive it by the new due date.
If the item is not returned by the new due date, you will be charged a daily overdue fine.
Interlibrary loan recalls
If you've borrowed a physical item through interlibrary loan, we will send you an email if it is recalled early.
Please return your item to any library location or to Parks Library's outdoor drop box. You can also mail a recalled interlibrary loan item back to Parks Library.
If the item isn't returned within a reasonable time, your interlibrary loan privileges will be suspended.
