Celebrate International Love Data Week, Feb. 12-16, 2024, in The Catalyst, the digital scholarship space in Parks Library. International Love Data Week is an annual celebration led by the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) at the University of Michigan, of which Iowa State University is a member. Love Data Week connects people from all over the world to learn, appreciate, and have fun with data. The 2024 theme is My Kind of Data: Data is Personal.
Join the Iowa State University Library in The Catalyst and celebrate the data you love with a variety of activities; there will be something for everyone:
- Show off your data analysis skills by entering our Data Visualization Contest. Take your dataset and get creative as you present a visual interpretation of it. Think maps, charts, 3D-models, even art. Open to ISU undergraduate and graduate students, cash prizes will be awarded for first ($150), second ($75), and third ($50) places. Submissions are due by 5 p.m., Feb. 14. Click here for complete contest rules and the entry form.
- Discover our data-themed book display in the lobby near the Parks Library entrance.
- Attend one of two drop-in sessions: Research Methods Meet Up, noon-1 p.m., Feb. 12; Tidy Data Salon, noon-1 p.m., Feb. 14.
- Join us at our open house from noon-2 p.m., Feb. 16, in The Catalyst. Enjoy data activities, refreshments, and contest winners will be announced at 1 p.m.
